No Smoking Restaurants in Tokyo
No Smoking Restaurants in Tokyo Japan is finally slowing getting more smoke conscience little by little. In that vain I saw this book today. It's 235 no smoking restaurants and cafes in Tokyo, Yokohama and Kamakura. 235 may sound like a lot but there are probably 235 restaurants with in 15 minutes walk of my house and there are certainly thousands in most major parts of Tokyo like Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shibuya, Ebisu, Roppongi etc. Still, it's good to know if you need a break from the smoke there's more than just Starbucks.

I wonder if the 235 already includes the at least 150 Starbucks in Tokyo and Kanagawa.

I hate starbucks. Because I'm trying to be an anti-chain corporate kinda guy... while working in a big corporation myself... hypocrite.

I'm not a big fan of starbucks either.  Not because they are a big corporation but because going to Starbucks is as boring as going to McDonalds.  I'd much rather go to some cool local cafe with some atmosphere and something different to drink or eat.

I've been to the Organic Cafe, and yes it is an interesting place. Smoky but interesting.

Does anyone know where I can get information in English on restaurants with no smoking sections?  Is the 235...book mentioned only in Japanese?

Hey just ran into a fully non smoking South Indian restaurant in Kamiyacho,called Nirvanam.The food and ambience is much better than most of the Indian restaurants that I have visited.
