First Trip to Japan

I love to travel. I love to see new things. Unfortunately I'm one of those people that doesn't like to travel alone and doesn't like to organize traveling so I don't do it as much as I'd like. Hopefully someday I'll meet someone that likes to travel also and doesn't mind making the arrangements.

Last year I got to go to Japan with my friends Craig and Maki McCoy. I was very lucky they allowed me to go with them. I got to stay at Maki's parent's house in Yotsukaido Japan which is about half way between Chiba city and the Narita Airport (or if Narita Airport is 1 hour from Tokyo than Yotsukaido is along that route 15 minutes from the Airport.

Staying in Chiba meant I got to experience a little more of the 'normal' Japan instead of just the Tokyo area. I got to see a real Japanese house instead of just a hotel. I got to ride the bus into town and then catch the train to Chiba and switch to the train to Tokyo.

I also got to go to Kyoto and see several temples. We rode the Shinkansen there and back (bullet train) and got to stay in a Japanese hotel courtesy of Maki's father.

I met several of Maki's friends. Asian women sure are beautiful.

When I was in Kyoto I bought a
love chance charm and I touched the love rock.
I guess they don't really work because
I haven't found love yet .

I'm hoping to go back to Japan for at least a month early next year. My roommates have promised to show me all over.

Hi there,

I have stayed in Yotsukaido about 3 times now because my wife's parents live there. My last time was Dec 2002 in the winter as usual.

My wife(Japanese) and I(Australian) live in Sydney Australia and sometimes we go to japan to see her family.

I quite like Yotsukaido because it's not too busy and easy to find my way around. It's got everything you really need so there is not much point travelling too far outside the area.

I think you'l find a big change at Yotsukaido Train Station because it's been all modernised and has esculators and many shops up stairs...especially nice cake and bakery shops..YUMM!!

I seen your web site by accident and i thought i would share with you my experiences in Yotsukaido.

I've also been to Kagoshima(Kyushu),Fukuoka, Kyoto,Nara, Nagoya,Gifu,Kiyosato, and all over Tokyo.

Best regards

DJ
